Papers and slides were due on Friday, but many have not arrived yet. Please send them in as soon as possible. Do consider making a poster to back up your talk. http://ldapcon.org/2015/?page_id=122 Please check your place in the programme: http://ldapcon.org/2015/?page_id=136 There have been a couple of small changes since my last message as we had to reduce two 45-minute sessions to 40-minute sessions. Please book your place at the conference using the free code that we sent you last week. *I* know you are coming, but the booking system drives things like the provision of food so if you want to eat... We forgot to ask about dietary requirements earlier. If you need vegetarian or other specific food please let us know by amending your booking on Eventbrite or by mailing ldap2015(a)ukuug.org - I cannot guarantee that we can provide everything but we will pass on your requests to the caterers. We now have some information about the projectors. The one that will be used for main conference sessions is a NEC PA600X. Resolution is 1024x768 and the connector is VGA. There are some adaptors available but it would be wise to bring your own if you want to use your own laptop with the projector. There will be a PC available but it only has Windows 7 with MS Office 2013 and a PDF viewer. To all LDAPCon speakers Preparations for the conference have progressed a long way since my last message. * We are now accepting bookings, and we will shortly send you a code to book your own free place. * We have 5 sponsoring companies signed up already, and two more expected shortly. People are sent the password to access it when they register, and it will be opened to the public after the conference. There is just one problem: the page is empty! Please get writing and send me your papers and presentations as soon as you can. * We have published details of the poster-display facility on the website. To all LDAPCon speakers Thank you once again for proposing papers and tutorials for LDAPCon. We have published the list of accepted papers and we are close to publishing the schedule for the tutorial day. I also expect to publish the ticket prices and details of sponsorship packages this week. Papers and Slides Please send electronic copy of your full papers and/or presentation slides to submissions2015(a)lists.ldapcon.org as soon as you can. It would really help to have these by 10th October so that we can make them available to delegates when they arrive. The plan is to have full text on the conference website, but to restrict it to registered delegates until some time after the conference. It may not be appropriate to make detailed tutorial notes available to the public. If this applies to your tutorial, please let me know. Posters I would encourage all speakers to bring along posters showing technical details of each presentation. This will be particularly useful where the presentation slot is short as there may not be time for discussion during the session. The poster can act as a focus for discussion at other times. We will have display boards available for this. They are just under A0 size, but I am told that A0 posters can be attached. This is very large for a single sheet of paper so it may be better to bring several smaller ones! Make sure that you use large text and bold lines so that the poster can be read from a reasonable distance. If you are travelling a long way it may be best to have the poster printed by a UK service and sent directly to Edinburgh. One such service is Instantprint: https://www.instantprint.co.uk/posters/a1 - I have not tried them yet, but the information on their website looks sensible. The display facility is for technical posters only. Event sponsors will have the option to display commercial posters, and I hope that many of you will be able to persuade your organisations to become sponsors. Expenses We expect that most speakers will be able to claim expenses from their employers, but we know this will not be possible for everyone. The conference has a budget to support speakers travel and accommodation, so please let me know as soon as possible if you are likely to need this. The budget is dependent on us getting enough sponsorship and ticket income so I don't know exactly how much we have. Please send me details of what you need help with before 10th September. LDAPCon needs sponsors

To all LDAPCon speakers: A successful conference has many components. You have already contributed greatly by offering papers and tutorials. It may be that your employers (or other organisations that you know) would like to be involved by sponsoring (and exhibiting at) the conference. I attach the PDF version of the sponsorship details. Please forward this to suitable people in any organisation that might be interested in sponsoring. Here are some words that can be used in covering notes: ------------------------------- The fifth International Conference on LDAP, Directory Services and Identity Management will be held in Edinburgh this year: Tutorials: 11th November 2015 Conference: 12th and 13th November 2015 The conference has a full programme with 22 peer-reviewed papers across two days plus a 2-track tutorial day and a poster session. This is an ideal opportunity for companies involved in Directory Services and Identity Management to promote themselves to an influential audience. We are expecting at least 70 delegates from around the world, and the website will be seen by many more professionals over a period of years. Five questions about the facilities

Hello, I have five questions regarding the presentation facilities this year: 1. How many overhead projectors will there be? 2. Is it possible to utilize > 1 simultaneously? For example one for slides, one for demo. 3. What is the max resolution for the overhead projectors? 4. What adapter is required for connecting to the overhead? (assuming VGA just want to be sure) 5. Hi all, I send you a template for your presentation at LDAPCon next month. You will find a version for LibreOffice and others for PowerPoint. You have to edit the mask to add your logo. Hi, I have listed those of you who want to share a dinner on sunday evening. I know a few places where we can have vegan food, but meat and fish for those who prefer it. The best would be to book a place and negociate a global price.
