Yes I remeber a number of Talks Ken Klingenstein gave on that.
Concept-wise I think it is good stuff. There also is an integration with
Shibboleth IdP done by Shilen Patel also from Duke Univerity. But to be
honest, I am not familiar who except Duke is using it
